The Science and Technology Park of São Miguel received today the signing ceremony of the Agreement for the Development of cooperation activities between the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the Nonagon Association and the University of the Azores.
This ceremony was attended by the Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology, Gui Menezes, the Mayor of Lagoa, Cristina Calisto, the Magnificent Rector of the University of the Azores, João Luís Gaspar, and the President of the Board of Directors of Nonagon Association, Arnaldo Machado.
“A word of acknowledgment to all those who over the years have carried out this project, in its most different dimensions, and who have taken very important steps, not only in a more physical component but above all for what is the set of people who have worked, both in management and in the domain of the different companies and sectors that make up this Science and Technology Campus”, said João Luís Gaspar, thanking the trust that is placed at the University as an active partner in the development of the Azores.
The Regional Secretariat for the Sea, Science and Technology, did not fail to emphasize the importance and the meaning of the signing of this agreement, as the first step for which conditions are determined for a more expressive presence of the scientific community in the Science and Technology Park of São Miguel.
“It is precisely for them to be reformed as activities of research, development and innovation, promotion and dissemination of knowledge and technological transfer, that sign this agreement”, Gui Menezes.
This ceremony, which marks the beginning of a new stage for Nonagon, was attended by some representatives of companies based in the Park.
