NONAGON hosted the closing session and presentation of the results of the "Azores Ecoblue - A look to the future" project.
This is a project funded by the EEA Grants Blue Growth Program, led by Circular Blue, in partnership with TERINOV, the University of the Azores, AIR Centre, the University of Minho, AEP and Visual Thinking.
The opening session was chaired by the General Director for Sea Policy, Marisa Lameiras da Silva, followed by a presentation of the results obtained by all the members of the consortium.
The closing session was led by Mário Pinho, Regional Secretary for the Sea and Fishing.
The architect Nieta da Ponte Rocha, responsible for the project, explored the concept of the circular economy, through the concepts of Upcycling & Recycling, with a component of innovation applied to the development of new by-products and raw materials, from waste and surpluses from the sea and fishing sector.
