The Nonagon Association - Science and Technology Park of São Miguel, will organize, from May 17 to 19, the fourth edition of Startup Weekend Azores, in Nonagon, in the city of Lagoa.

Startup Weekend is a dynamic and interactive workshop that allows participants, with the support of coaches and mentors (experienced entrepreneurs, business consultants and academics) to work on business ideas, to make them a reality.

This workshop is open to all who wish to convert an idea into a business, with no age limit or previous skills in business creation. These skills will be worked in the first person, during the weekend, with the help of competent professionals in matters of strategy, marketing, innovation, financing, among others.

The model and methodology of this workshop, developed by Techstars, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship on a global scale, allows participants to benefit from all their networking and resources.

In Portugal, there have already been Startup Weekend events from north to south of the country, such as Braga, Covilhã, Viseu, Porto, Coimbra, Lisbon and Portimão and also in the Azores.

The last editions of Startup Weekend Azores had a total of 155 participants, and some of the projects are being worked in order to materialize the idea into a business.

The event will be attended by the class of entrepreneurship from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, as well as their teachers, who will contribute as mentors.
