Edition of the Correio dos Açores newspaper notes the involvement of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Azores with companies headquartered in Science and Technology Park of São Miguel.

The companies Cybermap, Globaleda, Globestar Systems, Guia – Management of Information and Archives, Parcela Já, Tetrapi Creative Solutions and TTS, received, in the 2020/2021 edition, several final year students of the degree in Computer Science at the University of the Azores of curricular internships.

This internship takes place in the final phase of the students' training path, constituting a valuable opportunity to put into practice and develop their skills and aptitudes in a business environment.

The edition of Correio dos Açores highlights the work developed at Tetrapi Creative Solutions, which consisted of the development of a web application and an Android mobile app that allows its users to upload images from their computer or mobile phone and carry out the identification of faces, through an Artificial Intelligence algorithm, replacing faces with emojis or black rectangles.

In Guia – Management of Information and Archives, the internship was dedicated to the development of a web and command-line application that allows optimizing the creation of metadata in order to centralize and automate digital object annotation processes, increasing quality and reliability of the objects to be processed.

From a large number of companies and institutions that are associated with the University of the Azores in this initiative, Expolab – Life Science Center, a partner of NONAGON, is also present.
