NONAGON celebrated its 8th anniversary on September 4th and to mark this occasion, hosted a Coffee Talk and a Networking Moment with the business community and strategic institutional partners.
The Coffee-Talk was subordinated to the theme "The Future of Science and Technology and Smart Cities" and counted with the presence of Flávio Tiago, Regional Director of Science and Technology, and Frederico Sousa, Vice-President of the Lagoa Municipal Council. This event, which was attended by approximately 40 participants, aimed not only at discussing the topic but also to promote strategic networking.

In the afternoon, about 110 participants, including representatives and employees of companies located in NONAGON and entities from the Azores Scientific and Technological System listen to the music of "AsPeGiiC” while celebrating NONAGON's 8 years. The goal was to strengthen relationships and encourage cooperation.

It was during this event that Teresa Ferreira, President of the Board of Directors of Nonagon, announced a social responsibility initiative. The purpose is for companies and startups to contribute to donating goods to families in need.

During that day, an exhibition called "Ask Nature" was inaugurated that shows how nature has influenced technology.

This year, the 8th anniversary celebrations will be spread during the entire month of September and to promote the physical and mental well-being of the employees in the companies located in the Park, two awareness sessions will be conducted. On September 8th, Pawel Hodowany, a Polish osteopath, will speak about the importance of ergonomics, and on September 25th, Pedro Almeida Maia, an organizational psychologist and founder of Segmétrica, will address mental health, sharing the best tips, exercises, and workplace strategies.

"Hell of a Run" is the name of one of the games developed by Ninja Cows, a startup in the NONAGON business community, and it will be the theme of the first internal tournament on September 15th. With the sponsorship of RICFIX Solutions, a startup located in the coworking space, the tournament winner will receive a voucher for two people to explore a volcano on an ATV.

In an initiative called "Discovery Mission" on September 18th, representatives from different companies and startups will have the opportunity to visit the Marques Group, learning about their latest developments in research and development.

The 8th anniversary program was designed to increase the business community and promote interaction among companies, startups, and partners.
