Last Friday, the auditorium of the Science and Technology Park of São Miguel received the Public Presentation – Certified Forest Management, an action promoted by the Regional Directorate of Forest Resources.

During the opening session, this event counted with interventions by the Regional Director for Forest Resources, Filipe Tavares and, via video call, by the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, António Ventura.

During the morning, various issues related to the Management Plan for the Forest Perimeter and Regional Woods on the island of São Miguel and the Monitoring of Biodiversity, Soil, Water and High Conservation Values were discussed.

This initiative also presented the launch of a new international public tender for sale, which includes the cutting of certified wood and the award of services for the immediate and simultaneous execution of the reforestation of cut areas in the Forest Perimeter of the island of São Miguel.

After the screening of a film on Public Forest Management on the island of São Miguel, this public session was closed with the intervention of the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro.
