9th SME Innovation Meeting and Sustainable Sourcing

The President of the Nonagon Association's Board of Directors, Arnaldo Machado, attended to the 9th SME Innovation Meeting, promoted by COTEC Portugal - Business Association for Innovation, at Cine Teatro Garret, in Póvoa do Varzim.

This meeting, entitled "The Advantage of Sustainable Sourcing: The Next Priority for Innovative SMEs", aimed to share the latest trends in sustainable sourcing in the supply chain, with particular attention to innovation in plastics, biomaterials and other source materials, renewable sources, relevant to the theme of sustainability and supply chain strategies, with an impact on efficiency, risk management, new sources of revenue and competitive differentiation.

The meeting was attended by Kirsi Seppäläinen, Vice President of Stora Enso Biomaterials, a Finnish forest products company, followed by two panel discussions on sustainable sourcing opportunities.

In the second part of this event, in addition to a roundtable discussion on the state of business innovation, the COTEC-BPI SME Innovation Award was presented, which annually distinguishes an SME that has stood out on the national scene for its innovative attitude and activity.

The textile company Inovafil, which produces "smart yarns" for the fashion and technical textile markets, was the winner of the COTEC-BPI SME Innovation Award.
