BIC Azores

A Business Innovation Centre (BIC) certified as EU | BIC is a support organization, regarding innovation, to potential entrepreneurs, start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognized by the European Commission and coordinated by the European Business Centre Network (EBN).

The EU | BIC focuses on creating new innovative companies and/or on the development of existing companies, with the intent of fostering economic growth, competitiveness and job creation in their region of influence. The success of these organizations can be measured, for instance, through the survival rate of the supported Start-ups, with above-average results, as shown in the following graph.

Nonagon is since then part of a restricted group of 150 organizations worldwide, 7 of which are Portuguese.

This accreditation granted Nonagon the role of BIC Azores, that among other competences, is responsible for the operational management of the Azores Business Incubators Network.
