The auditorium of NONAGON – São Miguel Science and Technology Park, hosted the AI Azores Summit, an event that brought together national and international experts to discuss the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Azores.
The summit featured lectures addressing topics such as digital health, cybersecurity, and the impact of AI on education, with presentations from tech giants including Google, Dronamics, Palo Alto Networks, the Champalimaud Foundation, NOS, Deloitte, Outsystems, and Altice.
During the event’s opening, Artur Lima, Vice President of the Azores Government, emphasized the Region’s commitment to leveraging AI to enhance the efficiency of public and private services. He highlighted that technology serves as a tool to "modernize and improve" public administration and the Azorean business sector. Artur Lima also pointed out the innovative possibilities AI brings to key areas of the local economy, promoting the region’s autonomy and competitiveness.
The event also featured the presentation of the "Startup Award," recognizing initiatives that stand out for their positive impact in AI and for fostering responsible and innovative solutions.
The AI Azores Summit underscores the Azores Government's dedication to digital transformation, aiming to position the Region at the forefront of AI innovation and integrating it into productive sectors for a sustainable and connected future.
